Buying advice

Buy only what your pipeline keeps busy

A construction robot pays its way across projects, not on one site. Before buying, list the jobs in your pipeline where it would actually be used and how many days each would need it, then compare ownership with hiring or leasing. Idle months between projects cost you depreciation, storage and insurance without any output. If the work is occasional, a specialist subcontractor who already owns the machine may be cheaper still. By October 2026, prices shown here started near $35,000 with the Brokk 90 and climbed to near $2 million with the Hadrian X, and one listing was quote-only.

Budget dust control alongside demolition machines

Remote-controlled demolition machines such as the Brokk range or the Darda C12 Multi move the operator back from the work, but they do not remove the rules on dust. In the United States, 29 CFR 1926.1153 on respirable crystalline silica requires construction employers to control exposure, assess it where needed and keep a written exposure control plan. Ask each maker which water suppression or extraction options fit the machine and what they cost. Include them in the price comparison, together with the hydraulic attachments you will actually need on your jobs.

Compare printed structures on whole-life cost

A 3D construction printer from COBOD, CyBe, ICON, SQ4D or WASP changes how a building is made, so its value shows up over the building's whole life as well as during the build. ISO 15686-5:2017 sets out how to carry out life-cycle cost analysis for buildings and constructed assets, from acquisition through operation to disposal. Use it to compare a printed structure with a conventional one on the same terms, including approvals, insurance, maintenance and expected service life. A printer that saves money on the shell but raises later costs is not the bargain its price suggests.

What to look for

  • Transport, setup and power needs on each new site
  • Materials, consumables and software licences per project
  • Operator training and certification before work starts

Common questions

Why does demolition robot pricing vary so much?

Size and reach drive it. Compact models suit interiors and tight access, while larger machines take on heavier work, so compare models in the same class.

Are 3D construction printers sold outright?

Several are listed with a price on The Humanoid Group. Materials, site preparation and training typically add to the cost, so request a quote for a full project.
